Typically the last two weeks of July and the first two weeks of August are the busiest of the year.

We are currently full until August 13.

There is the occasional cancellation. If you are interested in any dates before August 13, email us.

There is space for all dates at the moment after August 13.

Hours

A reminder: Please be aware of our hours. There is a detailed page for hours and the “Why” the way they are. We still seem to have a steady stream of people not understanding hours.

If you are going to be 15 minutes late or early, just let us know and we can usually accommodate. If you are more than 30 minutes late, it is typically a no. If you arrive early, we will deal with you when we can – often that is when we are most likely moving dogs in and out.

Contact

As stated on the contact page, email remains the best way to get a hold of us. Period. All staff can see it on all devices. The phone is with me and if I am not at the kennel I may not be able to reply to a text message in a timely manner if I don’t know the answer – and I definitely can’t put a reservation in.

We use Facebook primarily to display photos and some timely notices. We do not respond to Facebook messages or check them in a timely manner. Email us.

Christmas

We will require a minimum 4 day/$160 reservation; like last year a $100 non refundable deposit will be required. There is a link to our deposit policy under reservations.

We will open Sunday morning 8-10am on December 24.

I will add more detail in the coming weeks.

August 4-7 weekend: Full

Longer bookings that bridge any date from August 4 to 7 will be considered but we are probably down to our last spot.

August 11-13 weekend: A few spots left.

After the August 11-13 weekend there are no weekends approaching full at the moment.

As we endure another heatwave, note the kennel is air conditioned.

Secondly, not unlike extreme cold, we get the dogs in and out a bit quicker especially in the afternoons.

We are very careful not to over exercise. No UTV running in the heat.

Availability

We are full the July 7-9 weekend.

July 14-16 weekend we have limited space remaining. Our quota of difficult and/or unfriendly dogs is full.

July 21-23 weekend we have limited space remaining.

July 28-30 weekend we have limited space remaining.

August 3-7 we have limited space remaining.

As we fill up any given weekend, we will not take any single night bookings (over the weekend). In addition, status can change quickly once I post this.

We do not check the voice mail.

This ensures that bookings or questions are answered by any of the staff, not just me (David).

We are asking more people for deposits during peak times to cut down on no shows and late cancelations.

Canada Day Hours

• July 1 we are closed to humans
  July 2 (Sunday) we are open 4pm to 6pm (Regular hours)
• July 3 (Monday – Statutory holiday) we are going to do a special morning window (8am to 830am) and normal holiday hours 4pm to 6pm.

A reminder that email is the best and most efficient way of contacting us and getting a timely response.

The beginning of June is sort of a bit of a lull, but not. We are filling up on weekends but the weekdays are a bit quieter.

After much re-routing and fixing leaks, the pool for dogs is open. We run a filter to help keep it clean and change the water every few days to keep it cool.

It is incredible how quickly a pool of water can get dirty with a pack of dogs playing in it.

Availability

In general there is space for all dates. Some dates, as we approach full we will limit the number of new dogs.

• The July 1 weekend is approaching full.
• July and August are roughly half full throughout.
• We took our first two reservations for Christmas this week. Still lots of space!

Deposits

May long weekend proved that we need to take more deposits for busy weekends. We had several no shows and a few late cancellations after we were turning people away.

This both costs us money and prevents somebody who wanted the space from getting the space.

For any long weekend and holiday weekend in which we will be busy, we may require a deposit.

Minimum Bookings

We will no longer accept any single night bookings over any holiday weekend.

We are full for the May 12-14 weekend

We are full for the Victoria Day weekend, May 19-21. There will be no available daycare on May 19 or May 22.

Other than those weekends, there are openings for all dates at the moment.

There is a lot of grass to cut this time of year, so at times, it will take us a few moments more to get to the door.

The website continues to be filled in with new text – Once again our host lost both our website and the backups. Nothing complicated about the website and it was time to rewrite some things – but it is taking a bit of time.

The end of cold weather and the firming of the ground brings a lot of outdoor work. Clearing brush, removing stumps, preparing to cut grass.

The removal of stumps has made me have to reroute some water lines and the pool will be up and running in the next week.

In addition to outdoor stuff, finishing off some new lighting indoors and pouring concrete for the final three pens to be “Renovated”

Upcoming weekends (as of April 17)

April 21 Weekend we have minimal space remaining.

April 28 Weekend we are about 60% full.

May long weekend (May 19-22) we are about half full. There is at the moment a two night minimum required.

We are full for the Easter weekend.

Note our hours:

• Good Friday: AM only (8am to 10:00am)
• Saturday, Sunday and Monday are our regular hours. We are not considering Monday a civic holiday so will be open both AM and PM

We do still have a bit of space for Easter – minimum three nights required.

Note that we are open AM only on Good Friday. Saturday/Sunday/Monday we will be open our regular hours. We are open AM/PM Monday.

Reconstruction of the website continues. Once again, ipage lost our site. No reason given.

A FAQ page is being filled out slowly, answering the most common questions we get.

Photos plug in as always doesn’t really work. There is a link on the photos page linking to the Facebook Albums page for the latest photos.
